Quick Guide: How to Create an AI-Generated Workbook in 3 Steps

In this guide, we’ll explain how you can create a custom AI-generated workbook in three simple steps.

Step 1: Describe It

First, create a new workbook from the Workspaces sidebar and select “Generate with AI” from the list of options.

With support for natural language processing, Spreadsheet AI can generate a new workbook with a simple description of what you need. When you open the Generate with AI dialog, Spreadsheet.com will prompt you to write a description of the type of workbook you’re looking to create.

Try writing something like…

  • A CRM opportunity tracker like Salesforce
  • An internal support ticket system with a Form View
  • A task list for a kitchen renovation project
  • An applicant tracking system like Greenhouse

…and Spreadsheet.com will generate a ready-to-use workbook in seconds.

Use the Generate with AI dialog to describe the type of workbook you need

AI-generated workbooks are automatically formatted with a Table Header Row and Data Types, and include sample data to show how the workbook can be used.

Use the button in the bottom left corner to adjust the number of sample rows that are included in the workbook.

Step 2: Review It

After you click the Generate button and Spreadsheet.com creates your new workbook, you have the chance to review it before keeping and working with it. If the workbook isn’t what you need or expect, you can tweak your request and click Regenerate to create a new version.

Review the generated workbook and adjust your query if necessary

Regenerate the workbook as many times as needed until it’s formatted the way you want.

Step 3: Use It

Once you’ve found an AI-generated workbook that suits your needs, click the Keep button to retain the data and formatting displayed in the workbook preview. Then, you can use your workbook just like any other template.
